Mr. Dang Xuan Son

With 24 years in the travel industry, I’ve built my career on a passion for meaningful travel and a commitment to responsible tourism. As a tour leader for Intrepid and others, I saw the risks of cultural commodification, sparking a mission to protect local heritage. In 2001, I co-founded Footprint Travel, a Vietnam-based DMC that connects global travelers with authentic experiences while benefiting nature and communities. I later co-founded the Responsible Travel Club Vietnam (2009) and Puluong Retreat, the first eco-lodge in Puluong Nature Reserve—each a step toward shaping a more sustainable future for tourism in Vietnam.
